Tailored CuCl2 nanoparticles for glutamine and ammonia biochemical sensing applications

In this study, CuCl2 nanoparticles (NPs) synthesised via pulsed laser ablation in liquid (PLAL) were successfully employed to simultaneously detect glutamine and ammonia, with a limit of detection 20 nM up 1500 ppm, respectively. These NPs hold potential for non-invasive diagnosis monitoring various health conditions using urine sweat samples. The sensing mechanism relied on the plasmon peaks UV range (at 300, 363, 423 nm), which used correlate levels ammonia concentration absorbance. Quasi-spherical CuO pyramidal through Cu powder IPA IPA-HCl, displayed higher efficiency, optical absorbance (20-fold), an 8400-fold increase colloidal conductivity (0.0005 vs 4.2 mS/cm) compared NPs. NP size distribution ranged broadly from 10 nm less than 100 nm. XPS analysis revealed that pure resulted oxidized NPs, while IPA-HCl medium (12 HCl) led formation combination metallic copper more conductive had their counterparts.
